‘The View’: Whoopi Goldberg rants after Rosie O’Donnell – Elisabeth Hasselbeck drama
Did you really think that Whoopi Goldberg was going to stay quiet when it comes to all of the drama and gossip surrounding her? If you did, then you may not know Whoopi as well as you thought. The panelist for “The View” is currently in a very unusual position, given that she is the only remaining member of the panel from last season.
On this show this week, Whoopi decided to make her opinions on everything known, without at the same time really naming names or situations. We assume that with the quote below, she is addressing the recent diatribe that Elisabeth Hasselbeck made about Rosie O’Donnell, which led to both Rosie and former panelist Joy Behar firing back with some opinions of their own:
“I will do my best to respect the audience, to make sure that we bring you The View that Barbara Walters wanted you to have, which is women talking about issues …. We are not little kids. We are grown-a** women!
“[So] quit trying to make me into something I’m not! I’m not a little girl with cat claws. I’m not a cat. I’m a human being. I’m a girl with a fist!”
Our interpretation of this? Whoopi is an accomplished actress with a great resume, and she ain’t got time for that when it comes to people fighting and trading barbs away from the show. She’ll continue to do her job (which she is paid very well for), and she’ll hopefully be able to continue to do it without a whole lot of outside interference or drama getting in the way.
Unfortunately for her, we don’t expect “The View” to come out and hire more panelists right away. It could be the fall before things are completely finalized to go along with the Rosie hire.
