‘Big Brother 16’ review: Was Paola or Zach evicted, and who is Head of Household?

Zach -Tonight’s “Big Brother 16” episode was by far to us the most suspenseful of the season. While we went in feeling fairly confident that Zach was going to stay and Paola was going to go home, the state of the house was so chaotic that anything still could have happened.

For the most part, we have to give the show a lot of credit tonight: While they are still painting Frankie with an angelic brush like he never threw Zach under the bus ever (which he did), most of the Veto Ceremony and the ensuing aftermath was accurate. The didn’t show much of the past 24 hours, but probably were unable to thanks to the edit.

We don’t want to waste too much more time on this decision: Paola was evicted tonight, and be a pretty wide margin. We thought that it was going to be 8-4 just to stir up chaos, but it was instead 10-2. Jocasta and Donny were the only two who actually chose to evict Zach from the game. We feel like everyone else got afraid of throwing out a hinky vote because others may do the same, and that led us to this result.

Her interview with Julie was at least better than Joey’s, and we learned through this that Donny may actually be more popular with casual fans than Big Jeff. He’s got the southern vote + the beard vote + the endearing vote. He’s impossible to hate! Zach probably won’t even hate him for voting to evict him from the game.

So who are the new Heads of Household? After a very odd game of croquet, it was determined that the honors went to none other than … Derrick and Nicole! It’s funny because neither one of them really needed to win it, especially Derrick. The best thing that they can do is just prepare to backdoor Devin, and not create and waves in the house.

This episode was overall a ton of fun, in between some great drama, a surprising vote count, and a set of people in power that should make this game very interesting. We would try to find a way to ensure that big players were in the Veto, just to help make sure Devin doesn’t win it and can be properly backdoored. Grade: A-.
