‘Arrow’ season 3 spoilers: More Oliver Queen – adversary scoop
What troubles await Oliver Queen on the third season of “Arrow“? There are so many that it’s ultimately difficult to know where to start, whether it is Malcolm Merlyn’s return, something going on in his past in Hong Kong, or the presence of some mysterious new foes in Starling City.
For the time being, the only confirmed villain we know of is a new version of The Count that will be coming up in the first episode of the season, entitled “The Calm.” So what about the episode following that? Per TVLine, the adversary for the Arrow then is a notorious assassin of sorts (not necessarily with the League, so don’t read into that word) who is wanted for murder in a multitude of countries. Their calling card? Taking out people who are close to a particular company. (Since there are not that many companies on the show, this may not be that hard to figure out.)
For the first two episode at least, the show seems to be adopting a format similar to both the first season of the show and the early part of season 2, where things are a little more procedural than they are closer to the finale. This may be a callback to earlier times, or the show allowing some of the long-term stories to build while Oliver takes out opponents who are going to show up quickly, and then disappear in the blink of an eye. Some of these episodes can still be great; just take a look at the one with the Dollmaker.
