‘The Biggest Loser’ spoilers: Meet the new trainers (including Jake Pavelka’s cousin)

The producers behind “The Biggest Loser” clearly want to ensure that their contestants this season have some more individual time with their trainers. After all, they have just announced that there will be four people at the ranch as opposed to the typical three of recent years, and two of these faces are brand-new to the franchise.

So who are these two? Following the departure of Jillian Michaels (again) from the show, NBC revealed the following two names.

Jessie Pavelka – You probably know him if you watched Lifetime’s “DietTribe,” but since we are not a frequent viewer of the network and we have a huge “Bachelor” readership, one of the more interesting things superficially about him is that he is the cousin of former lead Jake Pavelka. Hopefully Jessie’s time on the show doesn’t come with the same insane scrutiny.

Jennifer Widerstrom – Interestingly enough, Jennifer is actually well-known to NBC already as a former star of their “American Gladiators” revival. Given the sort of shape these men and women were in, it’s hardly a shock to see one of them back.

In a statement confirming the news about their new trailers, network reality head Paul Telegdy had the following to say:

“We are excited to welcome Jessie and Jen into ‘The Biggest Loser’ family, and know they will be valuable players on this life-changing show that continues to inspire millions of people to embrace a healthy lifestyle … We look forward to viewers meeting them and to revealing more great changes we have in store for the new season.”

Dolvett Quince and Bob Harper are staying on board, and hopefully this season NBC can turn things around after the last year found itself coming under fire for having a winner in Rachel Frederickson who was actually underweight at the time of the finale.
