‘Game of Thrones’ season 5 spoilers: The next move for Emilia Clarke’s Dany
“Game of Thrones” just finished up its fourth season, and with that finale there were more changes for the cast than we saw almost through the past nine episodes combined. Arya is off to a new world, the Wildings have been temporarily defeated by Stannis Baratheon, and Tywin Lannister no longer reigns as the Hand of the King.
So what about Danaerys? The Targeryan heir to the throne finally hit some major roadblocks in her journey after a run of success, and for the first time in a longtime, season 5 starts her off in a pretty vulnerable place. The finale’s director in Alex Graves recently said the following to The Hollywood Reporter on this subject:
“You are very much setting up next year, laying out that she is now alone. Everyone she had on the way up has been banished or sent away … She is in a very, very dark place that’s going to lead into next year.”
As for some other stories to watch out for now, Graves tells the website that now that Ramsay Snow was given quite the promotion from his father Roose, the Boltons are going to be a far more powerful family in this world than they have been already. We’re intrigued mostly about this, given that the family spent way too much time floating around the ether of season 4. Even though we did see Theon Greyjoy, for example, he has not exactly been given that hefty of a role to play.
