2014 Teen Choice Awards nominations: ‘Vampire Diaries,’ ‘Hart of Dixie,’ more honored

The more and more that we hear about the Teen Choice Awards, the more that we start to feel like it may need a name change to the Teen Vampire Awards. There are some TV categories where more than half of the entries are people responsible for sporting a set of fangs on a CW show.

By and large, though, The CW and ABC Family dominate the majority of the nominations for the 2014 show, and it’s hard to dispute it given that these are the networks that cater more to this audience. “Pretty Little Liars” and “The Vampire Diaries” were big favorites, but there were also some first-year shows that crept in here thanks to the passion of their fans.

Without further ado, let’s go ahead and dive into what are these nominations.

It’s interesting that “Hart of Dixie” is considered a drama here; in the Emmys, it is being submitted as a comedy.

We’re most surprised that this is not all “Pretty Little Liars,” but this show will eventually release some other categories that we are sure will include Shay Mitchell and Ashley Benson somewhere.
