‘Once Upon a Time’ season 4: A chat over Anna casting

Once -When is there going to be some significant “Once Upon a Time” casting news? We probably see this question right now more than any other when it comes to the show, thanks largely to the fact that the people involved want to take their time.

For the time being, the only major “headline” that we have to share in regards to casting is somewhat simple: Proof that the series is hard at work finding the right Anna. In a post on Twitter, co-creator Adam Horowitz posted proof that the process is underway, and it certainly looks as though they are looking at multiple people for the part based on the fact that there is even a process going on here at all. We would not be completely floored if this role is cast with an unknown, largely because the show’s pattern seems to be casting one popular guest star, and then one that you may not have heard of. (See season 2 with Michael Raymond-James and Colin O’Donoghue, and then season 3 with JoAnna Garcia Swisher and Rose McIver.)

So what about Elsa? We would assume that she would be the character with a more high-profile name attached, mostly because she has the larger arc. We’ve seen everyone from Elizabeth Mitchell to Yvonne Strahovski to Maggie Grace mentioned, and we’ve thrown out a list of people here that includes Gillian Jacobs and Malik Akerman. If we were Horowitz and fellow co-creator Edward Kitsis, we’d wait to reveal the name until Comic-Con to turn it into as enormous a headline as humanly possible.

Stay tuned, since we will have more on this and everything else in this storybook (or Storybrooke?) universe as soon as it comes out. You can also sign up today to get even further updates courtesy of our CarterMatt Newsletter.
