‘Girls’ season 4 spoilers: ‘Community’s’ Gillian Jacobs signs on, per Lena Dunham
Well, at least one actor from “Community” did not stay unemployed for very long. Not only that, but they are joining one of the most critically-acclaimed comedies out there.
In a post recently on Twitter, none other than Lena Dunham herself confirmed that Gillian Jacobs, who you may otherwise know as Britta Perry, is going to be appearing on “Girls” season 4. As per the show tradition, details about her role are being kept under wraps. One possibility is that she could be a part of the Hannah story, given that we presume she will be meeting a variety of new and interesting people while in Iowa.
There is also an interesting thread now of “Community” alum stopping by on this show, given that Gillian is following up Donald Glover, who appeared back in the second season as a love interest for Hannah. Both of these actors in a way have a connection to New York City, the primary setting for “Girls,” already. Glover attended school there at NYU before becoming a member of the “30 Rock” staff, while Jacobs is a trained actor from Julliard that somehow found her way into comedic circles.
As for whether or not this could impact the future of “Community” in any way, don’t count on it. There is nothing out there suggesting that Gillian is a series regular on “Girls,” and her schedule could be worked out just fine depending on if the show comes back. Hopefully, you’ll have some sort of information on the subject by the end of June, as there is at least one interested party in the show.
