ABC’s ‘Scandal’ season 3 finale spoilers: Kerry Washington, Scott Foley on epic scenes

“Scandal” is a show that prides itself on getting people talking time and time again, so you really should not be that surprised that there are similar expectations being placed on the finale for season 3. Expect this to be the biggest hour you have seen to date, and that’s really saying something given that we’ve seen bomb threats, affairs, people breaking down during press conferences, and Huck doing horrible things / having horrible things done to him.

The following teaser came from star Scott Foley to The Hollywood Reporter, and what we really dig about it is that he makes no attempt at all to claim that the surprises coming up with it are going to satisfy everyone:

“This final moment will be divisive. Some people will think, ‘Thank God, yes, that’s exactly what we wanted to see happen.’ Other people will be up in arms … Twitter will explode. Explode! Last season it was the “dad” moment. This season, it’s not so much an, Oh my God!’ — you’re either going to love it or you’re going to be up in arms. And I have a feeling there’s going to be more people up in arms.”

Kerry Washington’s own tease is a little bit shorter, but equally impactful when it comes to what she has to say:

“The final shot of the episode is not anything I could have imagined weeks before — or the episode before.”

The only thing that we can imagine making sense for the “Scandal” finale is a cliffhanger of epic proportions, and also something shocking when it comes to the election. We would be floored if there is another substantial death, given that we are still reeling from what happened to James.
