‘Sons of Anarchy’ season 7 spoilers: Two familiar faces upped to regulars

“Sons of Anarchy” will be starting up production for the seventh and final season later this spring, and in preparation for that, FX is doling out promotions to some of the show’s key players. This locks them in for work throughout the months ahead, and we also like to sentimentally think of it as a nice gesture to people who have served the series well as of late.

According to a report from Deadline, the two actors to receive these promotions are as follows:

Niko Nicotera – Niko has recurred for the past two seasons as SAMCRO member Ratboy Skogstrom, and this promotion could seemingly make him a larger part of the operation.

David Labrava – Labrava’s Happy is the Sergeant-at-Arms and high within the SAMCRO hierarchy. In real life, the actor is also a real-life member of the Hell’s Angels motorcycle club.

With Ron Perlman’s Clay now gone from the show and with so many other characters (see Juice, especially if Jax learns about some of his secrets) potentially on the fringe of SAMCRO these days, it makes sense for some others within the club to be featured.

The only problem for these characters is that series-regular promotions mean very little when it comes to their fate in a final season. Jax has committed many wrongs both before and after taking over the MC, and sooner or later all of these are going to come back to bite him. Some of them already have. This is going to be a rocky, difficult journey ahead for him as we figure out whether he can sustain this life, or if he is truly at the end of the road.

Other returning stars for this upcoming season include Jimmy Smits as Nero, and also Drea de Matteo as Wendy. She was also promoted recently to series regular.
