‘Once Upon a Time’ season 3 spoilers: Putting the dead to rest; the Wicked Witch’s story

Are you still in recovery from last night’s stunning “Once Upon a Time”? It was a tough pill to swallow, and it is something that is not going to be forgotten the rest of the season.

Is Neal really dead? Given how often this show tends to revive people, we understand the temptation to this so; however, this at the same time feels more like Sheriff Graham than it does Rumpelstiltskin. We don’t see why they would be otherwise emphasizing this story and putting the character to rest in the way that they are.

Neal’s death is just one of two elements that will be emphasized during Sunday’s “It’s Not Easy Being Green.” As the synopsis below teases, you are also going to find out what the specific motivation was for Zelena to go to the Fairy Tale Land in the first place:

“With Rumplestiltskin as her slave, Zelena challenges Regina to a fight to the death and shocks the Evil queen with the reveal of their familial connection, and the town lays Neal to rest. Meanwhile, back in the past in the land of Oz, a jealous Zelena asks the Wizard to send her to Fairy Tale Land after discovering that she has a sister, Regina, and that Rumplestiltskin is training her to become a powerful force to be reckoned with.”

There are only two questions that we have about Zelena after reading this:

1. Why does someone “wicked” need to ask the Wizard for permission to do anything?

2. Is it Rumpelstiltskin who reveals to her the truth about her lineage, and what’s his motivation for doing that?
