‘Psych’ series finale: James Roday open to idea of movie … someday
This is of course the question that almost any TV fan asks now that their beloved show is over, perhaps earlier than some out there may want:When is the movie going to be made? Thanks to Kickstarter, the biggest problem in money can be resolved so long as there are fans willing to dip into their own pockets in order to make something a success.
But the one thing that is hard to remember when it comes to “Psych” is that while it may not feel like it at times, the show did air for a full eight seasons. That’s a long time, and there is no shame at all in tonight being the series finale. If this is the end, it’s the end … even if we would still like to see a movie.
For the record, James Roday tells “Access Hollywood” that it at least is something that could be considered at some point in the future:
”Collectively we all sort of loved the idea of going out, while we maybe still had a little bit left in the tank, so maybe we could do something else down the road.”
So what is next for some of the cast members in the immediate future? Think pilot season. Timothy Omundson, Roday, and Maggie Lawson all have potential new projects lined up, and we imagine that Dule Hill in particular is going to have no problem landing a new gig after having this “The West Wing,” and “The Cosby Show” on his resume.
But for tonight, let’s just sit back and reflect on a great run. If there is a movie someday, we think there are still great stories to be told; if not, we can at least be satisfied that Shawn and Gus got an ending that forced them to grow up, but still have fun at the same time.
