‘Homeland’ season 4 spoilers: Nazanin Boniadi promoted to series regular
Is Fara going to be a part of Carrie Mathison team’s on “Homeland” for quite a while to come? That is at least the inclination that we get from the announcement that Nazanin Boniadi has been promoted to series regular on the Showtime drama. While this is not necessarily a guarantee by any means that the actress is going to appear on every single installment of season 4, you can at least take it as a strong inclination that she’ll have a major part to play.
It was expected that at some point, there would be some sort of additions and promotions within the cast, given everything that we have heard so far. Take, for example, the news that Morena Baccarin is no longer going to be a regular, and that Morgan Saylor joins her with that distinction. The show is clearly moving on from all things Nicholas Broday, and while the character may never be forgotten (the child is largely to thank for that), the writers do want to preserve some sort of distance by giving Carrie something new to do that is potentially out of the United States.
The writing staff is already hard at work on this new season, and we imagine for them the problem being already trying to figure out whether or not they are going to be able to dig themselves out of the ditch they are in. “Homeland” season 3 was not necessarily horrible, but it does mark a disappointment for an otherwise great show.
For those curious, Boniadi is currently recurring on “Scandal,” and has also guest-starred on “How I Met Your Mother.”
