‘Sharknado 2: The Second One’ adds Kelly Osbourne, ’30 Rock’ alum, Mark McGrath, more
Here at CarterMatt, we pride ourselves on many things … and one of these said things happens to be the master of reporting on all things “Sharknado.” Someone has to be brave enough to wade through those shark-infested waters (or should we say shark-infested sky?) and take on this Syfy / The Asylum franchise-in-the-making, and we will gladly wear that badge.
Today, we come to you with glorious news pertaining to the rest of the casting for this sequel known as “Sharknado 2: The Second One,” just in case the news of both Ian Ziering and Tara Reid’s return was not enough to get you excited. The likes of Vivica A. Fox, Mark McGrath, Kelly Osbourne, Andy Dick, Judah Friedlander (“30 Rock”), and Judd Hirsch have all signed on to be in this latest TV movie, which will go into production very soon in order to be ready to air next month.
This may be one of the most ambitious productions that a Syfy Original Movie has ever had, given that most of these projects both film and air with a smaller audience. But in all seriousness, what made “Sharknado” really different was merely that it took a premise that was so over-the-top, and didn’t really shy away from the fact that what they were doing was pure insanity from start to finish. Twitter went berserk with the news of the movie airing, and even though initial ratings were not really as impressive as all the trends indicated, it held up remarkably well in repeat viewings. It has also brought more attention to other original movies, and revived the careers of two of its stars. Who knew something as deadly as a sharknado could be so lucrative?
What do you think about this cast: Is it amazing, incredible, or any other superlative that you are going to describe in the comments? We want to hear from you!
