Is Kris Jenner’s daytime talk show dead?
When you think of the name “Kris Jenner,” you probably have one of two very simple reactions: You either get very excited and consider her to be some sort of hard-working hero or inspiration, or you consider her on the list of the people you are most interested in seeing go away at some point in the near future.
Well, what we know now is that you are not going to be seeing a whole lot more of Jenner moving forward. In a statement this week, 20th Century Fox announced that the show “Kris” is not going to be on the schedule for the upcoming season. Here is what they officially had to say:
“‘Kris’ will not be on the schedule for the 2014 syndication season. However, the possibility for the talk show, or an additional project for Kris Jenner, for the 2015 season is being discussed and highly considered.”
Does this mean for sure that the show is over? Not exactly. It is theoretically possible that it will be picked up somewhere many months down the road, but we doubt it. The issue here is that outside of Kardashian fans, it’s going to be hard to get new viewers to tune in here just because so many people dislike the family. Also, the daytime talk show genre is struggling right now. Katie Couric’s show was recently canceled, and it joins ones hosted by Ricki Lake, Jeff Probst, and others. It’s just so hard to get an audience when there are other established shows, coupled with DVRs and the simple fact that there are more and more people working during the day.
If Kris’ show is truly gone, are you going to miss it in some way? Be sure to share your thoughts below.
