‘The Big Bang Theory’ season 7 spoilers: Is a new love interest for Raj coming?

While we’ve had our concerns here and there about “The Big Bang Theory” and their handling of the Raj character over the years, one of the nice things is that the writers seem to either be clairvoyant, or they have some sort of long-term plan that they have stuck to despite all of the noise surrounding them.

The latest example of that? That it does not appear like Raj is going to be paired with the first woman he has a serious relationship with for life, which is what basically happened already to both Howard and Sheldon. According to a report from TVLine, producers are casting a new character on the show in Yvette, who is a veterinarian and helps care for his dog Cinnamon. While at first there may not be a connection there, it is not too hard to figure out that Raj could at least have a little bit of interest.

Now, the only question that remains is if Yvette could evolve into a character with a real arc on the show, or if this is going to be similar to what we had with Katie Leclerc in the past. She was one of Raj’s first real romantic partners from before he figured out how to talk to women, but she was only around for an episode as she tried to take advantage of him at every turn.

We still have no problem at all if Raj and Lucy do somehow get together again at the end of the series, but it seems appropriate that it would not be that easy for him to figure it out, given that this is the way that relationships work sometimes. Now that Raj does have the ability to communicate, he needs to actually get his confidence up. That way, he does look more level-headed and less nervous when he meets the right person.
