‘Psych’ season 8, episode 1 preview: Cary Elwes returns; Shawn & Gus go international
Are you ready to dive into some more adventures for Shawn Spencer and Burton Guster? Hopefully, that is the case since Wednesday night is poised to bring us all sorts of great stuff from the world of television. We have the premiere of “Psych” season 8, and an episode so big, it is not even going to be able to contain itself in the typical run time of about 42 minutes.
In terms of basic details, here is some of what you should expect. This is an episode that revolves around James Roday and Dule Hill’s characters taking off to London in order to “solve” a case with international mystique to it … maybe. That’s at least what Shawn seems to be doing, as Gus acts much more interested in trying to get himself to some sort of celebration of all things Harry Potter. Who knew that Gus was a part of Gryffindor?
This episode is also going to feature the return of Cary Elwes as Desperaeux, the famed “collector” who has shown up all around the world on this show already. He’s one of our personal favorite guest stars, mostly because it is so rare that we see characters appear here who are equally skilled at some of their specialized talents than Shawn is with his. All in all, it should be a good time, and one of the best ways to really start off an exciting season.
One of the only mysteries? How much of the supporting cast we are going to see? We already know that as far as this season goes, Maggie Lawson’s commitments to “Back in the Game” kept her out of a good chunk of the episodes.
