‘Sherlock’ season 3 spoilers: First details on episode 2, ‘The Sign of Three’
Who wants to see a “Sherlock” wedding? As you probably would have guessed it’s not Holmes who is going to be celebrating his wedding day on the BBC series; instead, it’s none other than John Watson. The second episode of the third season is entitled “The Sign of Three,” and it will require Benedict Cumberbatch’s shrewd detective to try to ensure that his colleague has a successful reception, and does not have the oh-so inconvenient killer spoiling all of the fun.
BBC released an official synopsis for this 90-minute episode earlier this month to go along with the one for the premiere entitled “The Empty Hearse” (which you can read about here); take a look at it below:
“In episode two of this new series, Sherlock faces his biggest challenge of all – delivering a Best Man’s speech on John’s wedding day! But all isn’t quite as it seems. Mortal danger stalks the reception – and someone might not make it to the happy couple’s first dance. Sherlock must thank the bridesmaids, solve the case and stop a killer!”
One other interesting thing to note right now about this series is simply the airdate of Sunday, January 5 at 9:00 p.m. local time. This is only a layoff of four days after “The Empty Hearse” airs, which means that the BBC are clearly assuming that there is enough of an appetite for this show that viewers will be fine with a quick transition from one episode to the next. Since this show is out-of-this-world awesome, we imagine that they are probably right.
There is only one more episode left in this series, and we will have some more news on that coming very soon. But given that you know already that there are plans for a season 4, this will not serve as the end of the show yet.
