‘Bones’ season 9, episode 11 preview: Emily Deschanel, David Boreanaz, and gymnastics
Who’s ready to see “Bones” enter one of the most competitive sporting worlds out there? The thing that makes gymnastics such a bizarre and fascinating world is that there are really only a select few competitions every four years that garner international attention, and you have to work tirelessly for just a few weeks of prestige during that time. It’s such a different world than football or any other sport, and to make matters even more interesting, you also have to remember here that the reward is so great if you are able to stick with it and be successful.
This episode will feature a former Olympian in McKayla Maroney, and the full synopsis below gives you a better opportunity to see the sort of case that is featured (which includes an appearance from Richard Schiff):
“The Jeffersonian team investigates the murder of a nationally ranked gymnast, whose remains were hit by lightning and scattered throughout a public park. Although evidence points to a fellow gymnast (guest star Maroney) as the key suspect, Brennan and Booth discover the victim was leading a double life. Meanwhile, Booth gets upset when Brennan shows surprising empathy for the victim’s father (guest star Schiff), and Cam confronts the woman who stole her identity.”
Based on this synopsis, you at least have one story on here that is a carry-over from what we have seen in the past, since Cam has been forced to tackle this problem for at least a little while. We are pretty thrilled just to see something extended on the show since the Booth / Brennan wedding is over, and as we get into 2014, we are going to need some more long-term storylines to help to shake this up a little. Luckily, we know that at least a little of this is going to come up courtesy of the mysterious “ghost killer” later this season.
