‘Glee’ season 5 spoilers: See Lea Michele, Chord Overstreet in ‘A Katy or a Gaga’ photos
Fox has decided to release some of the first photos for their return of “Glee” a week from Thursday, and it looks … interesting. Specifically, it looks insane. But why not include Adam Lambert in any of this? That seems to be the most questionable move of all right now, largely because you would have a perfect opportunity to do so given the size of the role that his character of Starchild plays in the hour. (Our theory? Fox is holding out on publishing these images for now, mostly so that they can launch a separate exclusive a little bit later.
So with that in mind, the images that we instead have here are all of the weird / wacky shots from “A Katy or a Gaga,” which in theory could either be really fun or really bizarre, depending on just what way the show decides to go with it. The photo of Sam is certainly quirky, but does he really need to have the shirt off again?
Speaking of people not wearing a shirt, let’s transition here for a minute into talking about this photo. When does this ever happen at an actual high school? We certainly wouldn’t be cool with it if we were in some sort of nearly naked performance group, though we do think it’s pretty neat that Artie is getting a chance to do Katy Perry’s “Roar” (or at least that is what we’re guessing based on this photo). While everyone else is doing their own little “Jungle Book” dance, he looks like the angry jungle prospector that is typically the villain in one of these movies.
As for the last shot, the only real purpose that we can think of for Fox sending out an obviously-cropped image of Lea Michele’s Rachel Berry is to remind us that the character is doing better as she tries to rebuild and figure out what she wants to do in life now that Cory Monteith’s Finn is gone. There’s no doubt that this has been a pretty impossible time for her, but she is moving forward with a role in “Funny Girl”, the support of her friends … and also a band that Adam may be a part of depending on whether or not Kurt welcomes him in with open arms or is turned off by his aggression on stage.
