‘Once Upon a Time’ season 3, episode 4 video: Rumpelstiltskin and Neal reunite

Are we going to have a happy family reunion on “Once Upon a Time” Sunday night? We don’t know if we would go so far as to describe it as “happy,” but you will at least see some of your favorite characters spending a little bit more time together in Neverland, starting Sunday night with Rumpelstiltskin and his dear son Baelfire / Neal.

Neal’s had quite a journey just to get to where his dad is already, having been in the present-day fairy tale world and using a certain lure from a certain spirit to get across from one world to the other. It was there that he had a chance to spend time with Robin Hood and others, and start to learn a little bit more about his family’s lineage. (It’s also thanks to this journey that we had a chance to learn more about that Mulan / Aurora storyline, which for the time being has to be #1 on the list of things to be incredibly sad about since she’s going to join the Merry Men both sad and alone.)

In the sneak peek video below, Rumpelstiltskin informs his son that if they really want to try and get Henry back, they have to be willing to do just about whatever it takes, even if that means being extremely aggressive, violent, and putting their lives on the line. Robert Carlyle’s character basically tells him that he is not personally afraid to put his life on the line, and will die willingly if it serves the purpose of making sure that Henry is back safe and sound. (That’s a little bit of a departure from his usual strategy of be the world’s most violent coward.) Luckily, Neal tells him that there could be another way to defeat Peter Pan, as difficult as it may be. (We’re just glad right now that Rumple finally has a scene partner again after spending most of his time running around talking with his projection of Belle.)

This episode is entitled “Nasty Habits,” and could end up being somewhat specific to the Rumpelstiltskin character. You can see more on it at the link here, and we’ll be back soon with some more news from the show.
