‘Glee’ season 5 spoilers: Speculate away on Demi Lovato with blue hair

Is Demi Lovato going for a new look simply for her music career, or are we looking at something more motivated by her current six-episode arc as Dani on “Glee“? In the first photos from Thursday night’s new episode “Tina in the Sky with Diamonds,” we’re clearly looking at a blonde character here. However, she is only at present two episodes into the arc, and yet she’s around town sporting a new look. If Demi was to change her hairstyle at some point during the actual filming process, we imagine that Ryan Murphy and the producers would be none too thrilled about that.

In the video below from “The Tonight Show with Jay Leno” last night, Demi performed her new single “Neon Lights” will sporting some electric-blue hair. This is a clearly different look that anything that Demi has done before, and we say that with the knowledge that she has experimented with a variety of hair colors over the years. This is the second year in a row where she was a blonde for at least part of the “X Factor” process, though last year she switched back to a brunette to cover some of the live shows.

In case you were looking for more proof that Demi’s arc on the show is limited, she will be going on tour early next year with a pair of former “X Factor’ acts in Fifth Harmony and Little Mix, and the dates are so extensive that there really is no time at all in there for her to take a break.
