‘Saturday Night Live’: Tina Fey, Miley Cyrus, Bruce Willis to host

More news -The first performers for this fall’s season of “Saturday Night Live” have been announced, and all in all, it’s a roster that we are pretty thrilled about. You have a popular former host, a major movie star, and also a controversial artist that is probably underrated as a comedic actress taking the reigns for some of the first shows of the season.

NBC confirmed today that Tina Fey is going to host the season premiere on Saturday, September 28, with music from Arcane Fire to go along with it. Fey is a more-than-capable host given her knack for multiple characters, sharp writing, and for delivering something that “SNL” viewers will care a lot about.

Meanwhile, the October 5 show is going to star Miley Cyrus, who will be both hosting and performing during the episode. We know that it is easy to hate Miley for what she did at the VMAs, but she was actually a really good host back in 2011. She is used to being in front of live audiences, and her “Hannah Montana” days gave her a lot of experience at making people laugh.

Bruce Willis will host the October 25 show, accompanied by returning musical guest Katy Perry. We imagine that this will feel like her show as much as his, given that she is a past host herself and will probably do a sketch or two to show off more of her own comedy skills. Willis has done comedy work himself, and his episodes of “Friends” are a personal favorite.

Overall, we’re pretty thrilled about this lineup; Miley is the most polarizing name of the group, but we at least know that all three of these people are capable of entertaining, and there are no guinea pigs in here that we are going to see stumble around the stage.
