NBC’s ‘Revolution’ season 2 spoilers: The likely story of Monroe’s son

The latest -When you consider just how big of a theme “family” has been to NBC’s “Revolution” over the course of its run already, the following should not surprise you in the slightest: We have even more relatives potentially coming for season 2. To be specific, one person that we could be getting set to meet is none other than Monroe’s son.

Speaking to TVLine, show creator Eric Kripke claims that the story regarding this character is going to be a “slow burn,” but that it will eventually become a major part of the story before season 2 comes to a close. This is not necessarily a guarantee that the reveal will happen, it would be a surprise if it is held onto given the direction that the writers are planning to take (based on Kripke’s quote).

Another perspective to take on this? That if the writers have some major reveals they want to do on the show, they are better off not waiting on them. We imagine that there is no show on TV right now with more pressure to succeed than this one. It is coming off of a year of airing after “The Voice,” and it now has to move to a Wednesday night time slot without that sort of support. It’s a little too violent at times for younger children, and a little too maddening at times for older viewers. There are so many elements that we enjoy here (primarily the visuals and the potential for the universe to be diverse and exciting), but not everything has come together yet.

However, this is a new season, and therefore a new chance. Based on some of the hints about darkness coming in the second season, there are reasons to be hopeful and excited. We’ll deliver our verdict once again when “Revolution” returns on Wednesday, September 25 at 8:00 p.m. Eastern time.
