‘Glee’ season 5 spoilers: Demi Lovato, Naya Rivera start filming together
The journey to finding out about Demi Lovato’s guest appearance on “Glee” season 5 has been a pretty interesting one. It first began with the news that she was cast for six episodes in the role of Dani, and art-focused young woman in New York City who spends some time with Adam Lambert’s character. Then, we learned after that she would be romancing Naya Rivera’s Santana during her span of time on the show. This means that the character is going to at least try to move on from Brittany, who will be missing in action for most of this season.
Now, we can confirm that the two have officially started work together on the show. Each one of the two stars has talked about it on their respective Twitter accounts, though there are some details that are under wraps. These scenes are likely for the second episode of the season, which is where there will be a duet for the two characters sing “Here Comes the Sun” by the Beatles.
In case you are wondering why there would be filming for episode 2 even after we said last week that production had started on the Cory Monteith tribute episode, the answer to that is actually rather simple: The show films some of its scenes and episodes out of order, mostly to accommodate the various filming schedules and the availability of certain locations.
Demi’s arc will be split up between the months of September and November presumably, given that the show will be on hiatus for a pretty hefty chunk of late October thanks to the MLB playoffs, which traditionally cuts the Fox fall season into halves. It’s also unclear if Demi will appear in the Cory tribute, or if will that be restricted to just longtime members of the show.
