‘Game of Thrones’ season 4 notes: Natalie Dormer, Joseph Gatt news

Natalie speaks out -In a sense, both of the “Game of Thrones” stories that we have to share today involve casting … just in some completely different forms.

First, we begin with the news that is breaking now that Natalie Dormer’s schedule has just become much more jam-packed than it even was previously. The actress, who is of course best known to show audiences for her role as Margaery Tyrell on the HBO drama, has landed a huge role in the third and fourth movies in the “Hunger Games” franchise, entitled “Mockingjay” (parts one and two). Her role specifically will be that of a director who signs up for the rebellion named Cressida, and fans of the book series will already be more than familiar with her.

This isn’t so much a reason for “Game of Thrones” fans to worry about whether or not we are going to see more of her on the show, given that she is a regular and not going anywhere in the near future. However, it is a reason for fans of “Elementary” to be shaking in their boots a little bit. The actress has played Irene Adler / Moriarty on the series, and with this schedule, we just don’t know how much more of her the show is really going to be able to showcase.

On a different note, HBO has finally confirmed today some news we reported almost three weeks ago: Joseph Gatt has landed an important part on the series’ fourth season. As for what role he is playing, the network is still keeping that a mystery for now. There is speculation around a certain Wilding leader, but based on how the show has not always cast the people you would expect in each role, it’s silly to sit here and think for sure that he is playing one part over any other.
