‘American Idol’ season 13: Ryan Seacrest teases big things with new panel
Has the new judging panel already been decided for the next season of “American Idol”? It would be somewhat surprising, given that Fox has traditionally chosen to wait until the last minute, annoy everyone with frequent casting rumors, and then announce people who feel more like mercenaries than people who actually care about the show.
With a new man running the show on Fox and a new production team steering the ship, who knows? Maybe this will be the year that something changes… maybe. If nothing else, Ryan Seacrest seems to be somewhat excited, telling Fox411 (per Mjsbigblog) something that suggests almost that the show has already picked the chosen ones that will be lording over all of the prospective contestants this time around:
“I think, based on what I have heard. The audience that watches American Idol is going to be very excited about the panel that we’ve put together for this Season 13. Its a very special season. And I think you’ll see some good chemistry this year.”
We’re going to take this comment as a reason to hope that the all-“American Idol” alum panel is something that could actually happen, given that we can’t see the audience that specifically watches this show screaming “woohoo” at the thought of more Mariah Carey, Nicki Minaj, or people who comes on the show and subsequently hate each other while pimping out their own agenda. They’ve surely done some chemistry tests this year, and not the kind about potassium chloride, to ensure that they have the right people around to save a show that tilted off its axis earlier this year and started careening towards the sun.
We’ll end this with a bold prediction: If “American Idol” doesn’t figure out a turnaround this year, it may not even make it to season 15. America is getting tired of the singing craze, and there has to be something of substance to go with the high notes or it’s over.

If Adam is shut out once again, Ryan may be the only one excited about the panel. The Jennifers don’t spark any interest not only for me, but the many other opinions I’ve seen. JLo is only interested in promoting herself and looking good. Jennifer Hudson doesn’t have the charisma or years of experience, vocal training or diversity as does Adam. I just cannot fathom why they don’t snatch hiim up. He is more than qualified and people will watch! Keith Urban at least pays attention and seems sincerely interested. kelly Pickler would be fun and she showed professional dicipline and focus on DWTS. I don’t know what it will take for Idol to think outside of the box and I don’t mean hiring ego driven rappers or over priced pop princesses. Wake up and smell the coffee, Idol!

I totally agree. I love Adam Lambert – he would be perfect as a judge

Adam Lambert would be an excellent judge for Idol. He is intelligent, witty, opinionated, thought provoking, brutally honest, humble and oozes charisma! He has always spoken highly of Idol and would be doing it for the right reason – to give back to Idol. He wouldn’t be in it to pimp an agenda like J Lo and Mariah did. Sign up Adam Idol. Glee was smart – now it’s your turn!!!!

Blah, blah, blah. the only thing that’s going to “fix” Idol is getting Adam Lambert as a judge. His fans, ahem, are crazy social media freaks so word of the fun he will undoubtedly spread, just like his live shows, will spread and TaDa, Idol will return from the “near dead.”
