‘American Idol’ tour: Hear Candice Glover, Kree Harrison cover Phillip Phillips
On July 19, the “American Idol” tour is starting off (after some recent cancellations) with a performance in Seattle, Washington; but in case you’re looking for a preview, we have one for you below as the top eleven contestants from this past season (including Aubrey Cleland) all have a song for you that fans of season 11 champ Phillip Phillips should know extremely well: “Gone, Gone, Gone.”
In the video below, you can hear the likes of Candice Glover, Kree Harrison, and many more perform the track, which is his second single off of the track from Phillip’s “The World from the Side of the Moon.” Several in the video, especially Kree and Janelle Arthur, sound pretty amazing; unfortunately, there are also a few others that appear to just be standing around and giving a few lines here and there. This is why we’re not a fan of these group performances, as these voices don’t really all blend together, and it is far better when just like-minded artists perform together rather than trying to make this into the new cast of “Glee.”
While we’ve been hard on this season (especially the guys) much of the past several months, we do hope that the tour is something special for those who paid for it. The majority of these artists seem to be likable people who are really grateful for this opportunity, and it will be interesting to see if the nicer contestants that we have lined up in our head are the same ones who are super cool with the fans on tour.
Want to read about some more ways in which Phillip is actually impacting “American Idol” this coming season? If so, all you have to do is visit the story over here.

I doubt they sell more than 1000 seats at any show. Weakest season ever.

While ticket sales are slow I don’t think they’re that slow. I thought this group performance was very weak in a smaller contained environment so I cannot imagine what it will sound like at a bigger venue. Ugh
