‘Grey’s Anatomy’ season 10 spoilers: Whose new casting could limit appearances?

Grey's AnatomyIf there is one thing that Shonda Rhimes has proven herself to be rather adept at over the years, it is finding unique ways to bring guest stars onto “Grey’s Anatomy” and other shows that already have some other commitments elsewhere. It is really thanks to this that we are not altogether surprised at all that there could be another complicated wrinkle added to the show now.

Sources confirm that Jason George, who plays Bailey’s husband Ben on the ABC hit, is going to be appearing on the upcoming Lifetime drama “Witches of East End” (also starring Jenna Dewan-Tatum) as Adam, the love interest for the character of Ingrid. We don’t know how many episodes of the show he will appear in, but the season itself runs for ten episodes.

Accommodating George’s schedule is something that Rhimes and the other producers are accustomed to at this point, given that they have already done it on multiple occasions. For example, he was filming “Mistresses” for the better half of season 9, but they found a way to squeeze a little bit of Ben in there as Bailey started to go through her mega-crisis related to the CDC. It certainly helps that the Ben character is currently written as working elsewhere, since it does give George the flexibility to take on other roles where there is more material, and come back here whenever he is called on.

What do you think about this news, and do you still have some confidence that Rhimes will find some unique ways to place Ben into the story this year? If you want to see some other early “Grey’s Anatomy” season 10 scoops, our suggestion is to just check out the story over here.
