‘The Vampire Diaries’ season 5: Ian Somerhalder shares first script photo

While it is not currently clear as to when every actor on “The Vampire Diaries” is returning to set, Ian Somerhalder is in Atlanta today getting all of the correct makeup applied so that he can yet again become the infamous Damon Salvatore.

However, what we have for you today is proof of something else: That the actors are currently digging through their scripts for the new season. Ian shared the image attached here on his official Instagram page, and he is being a little savvy when it comes to the things that he wants to share in relation to the show. Why? There’s no title attached to this at all, knowing that this is something that Julie Plec and company probably don’t want out there for anyone to see yet. (Then again, it’s also likely that this episode just has not been titled yet.)

So what could this premiere be about? From the Damon standpoint, we expect to see quite a few stories about him trying to adjust to being a real boyfriend to Elena after all of the madness of last year; meanwhile, he’ll also have to slowly start to figure out that the new “Stefan” parading around Mystic Falls is probably not all that he seems to be.

For those curious about some production news regarding the spin-off series “The Originals,” Joseph Morgan recently confirmed that it will start filming a little later this month. This allows him the opportunity to wrap his current film project in New Orleans, and then move back over to Atlanta, where he will ironically work on a show that is set in the Big Easy.
