‘Sons of Anarchy’ season 6 spoilers: Kurt Sutter talks new aftershow plans
Like a child growing up into the world, we’ve seen almost the entire journey of the “Sons of Anarchy” aftershow via creator Kurt Sutter’s “WTFSutter” videos. These started out just as an idea that he was exploring, if there were the resources available in order to pull them off. Then, it expanded from there again into something that was being heavily looked into by FX. Following that, it was official, and now, we have some of the first real details about it.
In the video below, Sutter explains that there are three after-shows that have been put together for this season: One after the premiere, one in the middle of the season, and one for the finale. Both he and CarterMatt.com seem to be in agreement that there should really be more, but it’s hard to be upset about getting a little bit of something as compared to a whole lot of nothing, which was what we had in terms of after-shows in the past.
For the time being, these shows will be online, and will utilize social media to the fullest in order to make them into an interactive experience. Sutter also announced that a host has been chosen for the show, but as with all of his casting announcements, he wants to leave the unveiling for some sort of official channel rather than a video that also featured his comparing a Japanese voice to an Asian prostitute. (In his own words on Twitter, he claims that he “set back Asian-American relations 30 years.” this week.)
We’ll have more on the after-show when FX chooses to announce it, but the implication here is that this same sort of format could be done with some of the network’s other shows.
Be warned that the video below contains language, but we have no clue why you’d be offended by that since you are reading an article about Kurt Sutter to begin with. Also, check out some more details on the show’s Comic-Con panel here.
