‘The Vampire Diaries’ season 5: Kat Graham, Stephen R. McQueen say all the right things
There is a very valuable rule of television that every actor should be aware of before you get into the business. If all else fails, just defer to the people in charge and praise them for their work. It’s too early for any of the “Vampire Diaries” stars to have a clue as to what’s coming up for them as the scripts are still being written, and it’s unlikely that any of these actors have seen a single word of them.
Of course, it probably helps to say nice things about your executive producers when they are genuinely nice people to begin with. You know Julie Plec very well if you’re among the #TVD faithful (yes, we did just hashtag in the middle of an article), but you should familiarize yourself with Caroline Dries. With Julie stretching herself over to “The Originals,” she’s going to need a little bit of extra help this year.
Onto what a pair of actors (who are probably hoping to not be killed again in some shape or form) are saying now about them and the writing staff via some various interviews.
Kat Graham (via Wetpaint) – “I’m very excited to go into the new season and see what’s in store, and what Julie Plec and Caroline Dries pull off. They’re amazing. Julie with The Originals, and Dries is going to be a big part of this next season.”
Stephen R. McQueen (via HollywoodLife) – “[It’s] all [up to] the amazing writers. I’m putting all my trust and hope in them to make a good show for us all.”
We’re hoping for some deeper layers into the ghost world personally, given that this idea was awesome when it was first introduced for Jeremy, but last season it felt abandoned at times while we all complimented him on his muscles. Bring back sensitive Jeremy! We already have enough killers on this show.
