‘Game of Thrones’ season 4 spoilers: Who is Nikolaj Coster-Waldau ready to work with?

Game of ThronesIf you want to get some official scoop on “Game of Thrones” season 4 right about now, there is really only one way to do so: Go read the George R.R. Martin book series. HBO is not going to spoil anything, and as a matter of fact, they are more likely to lock you in a room and play “The Rains of Castamere” to you before they say where the story is going the rest of the season.

So where are we likely going to see the story going? It’s a complicated question, but we do at least have some sort of answer per Nikolaj Coster-Waldau. The man behind the brilliant performance as Jaime Lannister seems to be the go-to guy for press leading up to the finale, and he told the A.V. Club that one thing that he is especially excited about doing in season 4 is work alongside Tywin Lannister himself in Charles Dance:

“I can’t wait. I’m pretty sure we’re going to have some fun next year. We’ll have the whole family back together.”

Really, the biggest scoop that comes out of this is merely that we know for sure that Jaime and Tywin each seem to survive the finale, but we’re hardly surprised, given that we suspect most of the death for this season is already out of the way. “Game of Thrones” loves to have its killings in the penultimate episode, that way the finale can deal with the aftermath and set the stage for next season.

Coster-Waldau also opened up in the chat about how it is going to be working with a one-handed character for the rest of the series:

“Well, it’s an obstacle, and obstacles are great. There’s been a lot of that this season, being tied down, and pushed around in mud. But these are all little gifts you get as an actor. That’s the way I look at it. Especially those physical scenes where you have to fight something. It makes it very easy not to act. Of course, difficult scenes like the bath scene, I was lucky to have Gwen [Christie] there, which makes it easier. But I like obstacles. I think something happens, and he’ll get some kind of Captain Hook thing.”
