‘Britain’s Got Talent’ rankings: Why Robbie Kennedy, Luminites, Pre-Skool are favorites

Britain's Got TalentIn looking at the lineup for the “Britain’s Got Talent” episode for Thursday, it is probably the weakest of the bunch that we’ve seen so far. Realistically, there are probably only four or five acts in here with a shot to make it through to the next round, and even with that being said, two of them have just small chances.

By this point, you really have a sense, as well, of how the British public is going to vote. One thing that apparently matters to the voters is being very young and/or being a singer. Just look at Jack and Cormac, who nearly advanced earlier this week despite not really being that good. We’re putting voting history as the top factor in these rankings, along with performance quality and how much of them we’ve seen so far this season.

9. MC Boy – Cannon fodder. He’ll go out with his ridiculous little song, and waste a few seconds of our lives. It may be mean, but it’s probably the truth.

8. Thomas Bounce – Even if he does this juggling routine perfectly, which is extremely unlikely given the sort of pressure jugglers are under on this show (i.e. they almost always mess up at least once), he has no shot at getting through. Voters don’t respect it.

7. Joseph Hall – He’s probably one of the better dancers in the competition, but he’s not a child. Based on the voting patterns so far, that is a serious problem.

6. Stevie Pink – We think the gimmick will do him in as a magician, mostly because it tends to at times overshadow what talent he has. When it comes to magic acts, Thomas More has a much better shot.

5. Freelusion – They looked somewhat promising in their first audition, but we still don’t know what their technology-themed act really is all about. They’ll probably be buried early on in the show and have no shot at advancing.

4. Rosie O’Sullivan – Big voice, but are voters going to be clamoring for something different at around this point? We just don’t see her style of music helping her move on to the final round.

3. Pre-Skool – They are little kids. They dance. This is enough of a reason why you should be worried about them getting through to the next round. For those of you who think we just hate kid acts, let’s just say this: We love, love, love Jack Carroll. We just prefer our kid acts to be sustainable, and these little ones are not going to be in school forever.

2. Luminites – They had a very cool audition , and while vocal groups can at times be buried early on in the show, they could advance with the right placement in mind.

1. Robbie Kennedy – he’s an inspirational story, a pretty good-looking guy, and he has a guitar. Girls will love him. Do we need to say more? While there is no guarantee that he will win the competition, Simon Cowell’s desire to consider him for a record deal could be reason enough for him to get a primo spot on the show, and he’ll probably pick a great song that works well with his voice.
