2013 Teen Choice Awards: Ian Somerhalder, Jensen Ackles among first nominees

Teen ChoiceThe Teen Choice Awards could very well be re-titled the Teen Fanbase Awards, since what typically ensues here just about every summer is an epic standoff between various fan followings in order to see which show / actor can emerge on top. It’s a pretty entertaining battle to see, and given all the buzz around this show every year on Twitter, it’s almost a surprise to not see the show eventually draw more viewers than it does when the show actually airs. (This year, it will be on Sunday, August 11.)

This show always chooses to announce their nominees in huge bunches, and since we are a TV-centric site (and since this show has approximately a billion nominees), we’re going to focus mostly on the ones related to our favorite medium of entertainment.

Before we dive in, some quick observations: The TCAs remember that “Gossip Girl” was on in the past year, they by and large worship The CW, and apparently, “Elementary” is considered an action show.
