‘The Vampire Diaries’ season 4 finale spoilers: Paul Wesley, Ian Somerhalder, and a choice
When it comes to the long-standing love triangle on “The Vampire Diaries,” it is understandable that there is a certain level of hair-pulling frustration. After a few years when it comes to Damon vs. Stefan banter, you wish that Elena would just get on with making a choice already!
After all, at this point it feels pretty obvious that they each have their own set of advantages and disadvantages. When it comes to Paul Wesley’s character, for example, you have to deal with the off chance that he could somehow summon his old ripper powers yet again; nobody wants that, right? Meanwhile, Ian Somerhalder’s vampire forces you to deal with snarky comment after snarky comment. Imagine shopping for a dress with this guy! Okay, on a serious note, the biggest problem with dating Damon (which sounds like the name of a VH1 reality show) is that he comes across so callous.
We’ve heard time and time again that the love triangle is “restored” in Thursday night’s season finale “Graduation,” and apparently, this must mean that we actually see Elena make a choice between the two. After all, this is what E! News is reporting now. There will be a pick made by the time the episode ends, and hopefully this pick is going to translate into a story early on during season 5. We don’t want to see one of those “I choose you” moments, and then see the character be like “eh, not so much” when the action picks up again come September. Nobody wants anyone who is too wishy-washy.
The only thing that we can spoil right now when it comes to the possible choices? That at one point, Damon will admit to having some sort of feelings for his long sire-bonded love interest … in a way that only he can. Take a look.
