Breaking news on the Sophie McShera front: Daisy is actually going to have an opportunity to clean up a bit on “Downton Abbey” season 4!
In a new interview on “This Morning,” the actress revealed that her character of Daisy has “got up in the world a bit” this coming season, and is thus being given opportunities to do at least a few things that she was not able to previously, including the honor of being able to wash her hair. If you think that this is horrifying in some way, just wait until you hear her story about just how hard she had to work in order to get all of the wax out of her hair after a week of filming her character.
“Downton Abbey” season 4 has been in production for months now, and should be coming to a close later this summer. Despite McShera’s claim here, most of the plot for the series is still under a very heavy lock and key.

And now onto something completely different: In addition to Michelle Keegan wanting to join “Downton Abbey,” another young actress with “Coronation Street” ties is making her interest rather clear as well. Speaking in a new interview with EntertainmentWise, Helen Flanagan had the following to say about her interest in trying new things:
“I’d love to do something like Downton Abbey. I wold love to try different things.”
As with Keegan, though, we don’t feel as though the odds of Flanagan actually landing this role are particularly high. The series is already so far along into filming that we just cannot imagine there being time to cast anyone new. However, there is always season 5, so who knows what the future holds.
