‘American Idol’ notes: Candice Glover, Jennifer Lopez, Jessica Sanchez

American Idol LogoSince we are mere hours away now from the top 4 performing (again) on “American Idol,” it only seems appropriate to start off this article with what has to be one of the more ridiculous rumors that we’ve ever heard: That Candice Glover is getting personality “training” in order to be better on stage, and the other contestants resent her for it.

This story was first reported by Fox News, with a source saying that this move was recommended by Mariah Carey. Thanks to that, Nicki Minaj is also upset, since she supposedly has her own idea as to who should win the competition.

What makes this idea really the most ridiculous from this standpoint is merely the idea that Candice is getting something special. All of the contestants receive some sort of preparation for dealing with the media, and some have even visited with TMZ in the past in order to know how to deal with this level of public scrutiny. Not only that, but we don’t think that Candice has a personality problem at all in fact we’ve always found her to be pretty fun, and there’s at least one other contestants who has been the target of internal and external speculation when it comes to whether or not their personality really lines up with what we would expect an “American Idol” to be.

Jessica talks about experience – In case you haven’t heard yet, Jessica Sanchez’s “Me, You, & the Music” is in stores! So what does she have to say about the disc finally hitting the shelves? Speaking to ET Online, the reigning runner-up explained the summation of all her hard work:

“It’s amazing. I was really, really excited when it came out at midnight and was already number four on iTunes album chart. I was freaking out. So far, it’s doing amazing, so it’s exciting. It’s an amazing first album for me and I hope it is for everyone else.”

It’s official – Finally, it looks like Jennifer Lopez is going to be returning to the “American Idol” stage for the first time since last season. E! News reports that the “On the Floor” singer will perform during one of the nights during the finale in two weeks. We know there have been rumors about her returning to judge, but don’t read anything into that just yet. This show needs to cut costs badly, and hiring someone with her salary demands is not going to do that.
