‘How I Met Your Mother’ season 8, episode 22 preview: Barney’s capture

If there is one thing that has the potential to be even more insane than Barney Stinson on “How I Met Your Mother” throwing a bachelor party, it is Barney Stinson on “How I Met Your Mother” throwing a bachelor party with $5,000 in his pocket.

So how did this happen? In the sneak peek video below, Robin tells her fiance that she is nervous about a dinner that she is having with his mother, mostly because she wants to create a good impression much in the way that anyone in her situation would. However, he tells her that there is really nothing to worry about … and that he is going to go over and drop off the $5,000 deposit for the caterer.

This is where things get insane. Immediately upon exiting his apartment, Marshall and Ted put a black hood on his head, drag him into a car, and then surprise him with the news that his bachelor bash is on! For him, this has to be great news! However, we can’t really imagine that it is for Robin or anyone else, for that matter. Did Ted and Marshall clear this with anyone? We can’t imagine Robin would be too happy to have Barney suddenly disappear on her, or find out that her catering money has somehow went to some sort of bizarre Chinese gambling game that Barney likes to play in Atlantic City.

Even though this show is only 30 minutes long (or around 22 without commercials), we’re sure that the writers are still going to find a way to cram as much craziness in here as possible. In addition to that, though, they also have to continue building to a finale that is a couple of weeks down the road, and will bring us closer to answering some of the key questions surrounding this series than we have ever been before.
