‘The X Factor’ USA notes: Carly Rose Sonenclar, Fifth Harmony, and Khloe Kardashian

The X Factor LogoThere’s quite a bit of ground to cover in this edition of “X Factor’ USA notes, but we’re going to start with something that is actually the strangest rumor we’ve heard about the show thus far: That for whatever reason, Jennifer Love Hewitt could be a judge on season 3.

This news was first reported by Us Weekly, with a source claiming that Simon Cowell is “very interested.” What we find especially hilarious about this claim, though, is that it contradicts itself later on by saying that Kelly Rowland is still the favorite to become the next judge. To be frank, this thing with Hewitt is not going to happen. While “The Client List” is not confirmed for a third season yet, this is the actress’ primary job, and it tapes around the same time as the “X Factor” performance shows air. Plus, her music experience is around a decade in the past, and while she’s at least more qualified than Ellen DeGeneres, that’s not saying much.

Assorted notes

Selena GomezCarly meets Selena Gomez – In a post on Twitter, Carly Rose Sonenclar showed off a picture of herself alongside the aforementioned “Come & Get It” singer, who is on a radio tour right now to promote her new music. This means that Carly has met two-thirds of who we consider to be the Disney Channel Trinity from the last decade, as she clearly spent some time with Demi Lovato on the show. Now, Miley Cyrus is the only one remaining!

Khloe’s “momager” stands up for her – You may not like Kris Jenner, but this new quote from E! News proves that she can always make the best of a bad situation, including Khloe Kardashian not returning to “The X Factor” next season:

“Khloé had such a good time and she wasn’t sure if she was going to come back or not, so I think that with everything going on and the other three shows she’s working on, it just worked out for the best.

“Everything happens for a reason, but she was in love with her experience and had such a good time.”

It’s such a smart statement in that it doesn’t say whether Khloe left voluntarily or was fired, but also makes it clear that she has plenty of other projects to move on to.

Finally, Fifth Harmony – The girl group is featured (along with One Direction’s Niall Horan) in a video congratulating the Backstreet Boys on 20 years of success. (Yes, you should feel very old right now.) Be warned that the end segment featuring Kathy Griffin contains strong language.
