‘All-Star Celebrity Apprentice’ review: Brande Roderick, Penn Jillette, and South Africa

All-Star Celebrity ApprenticeBefore we dive deep into Sunday night’s “All-Star Celebrity Apprentice,” let’s start things off by praising the show for actually getting a unique location for a change! South Africa tourism was something completely new, and it was refreshing to see a new take on a product and a field of business that had not been emphasized on the show before.

Now, let’s actually get to talking about the task: having to create an exhibit that really makes people at home want to visit the country (which you really should, since Cape Town in particular is one of the most diverse and beautiful cities out there). These two displays were night and day and the team led by Brande Roderick was completely a mess when it comes to actually giving people an “experience.” Their recreation of a zipline was literally tying them to a chair and flinging them around the room. Meanwhile, their “golf” is one of those things that a bored officer worker has in his cubicle. They had a nice brochure, and that was it.

Meanwhile, Penn Jillette once again hit a knockout punch this week. His presentation was incredible, and it was also authentic in between the Zulu dancers, the food, and some of the other amenities. It also played into the romance theme very well, and felt much more professional.

In the end, the hilarious thing was that it sounded almost like Donald Trump wanted to fire Lil Jon over Brande, just because he commented that the romance theme was “easier” than his own theme of “adventure,” even though he fought for adventure in the beginning. This was a bad comment for him to make, but firing him over that would have been stupid. Brande was the right choice to go in the end, because she couldn’t win Project Manager in either attempt this season, and no one else was really to blame.
