MTV’s ‘Awkward’ season 3, episode 3 preview: The Jenna / Matty confrontation

Ever since the pregnancy scare on last Tuesday’s “Awkward” season 3 episode, it’s fair to say that the title of the MTV hit has become more appropriate than we can ever hope to describe here. While Tamara and Jake are in a relationship of extremes (where they are either overjoyed and kissing every other second or freaking out), she and Matty are simply just extremely uncomfortable around each other.

As you may be aware of already, the biggest problem that Ashley Rickards’ character faces in her relationship is not that she believed herself to be pregnant, rather it’s that she decided to tell her ex in Jake before deciding to inform her current boyfriend. This is enough to make any man uncomfortable, which explains why he will be exhibiting some strange behavior during the upcoming “A Little Less Conversation.”

Will they be able to work things out? That much is unclear, but there will at least be some sort of serious conversation about the subject by the time the episode ends. What Matty does not realize at this point (and what Jenna may not even realize for now, either) is that there could be some competition coming up for her heart in Colin, the outspoken member of her creative writing class. We haven’t seen much of this class environment just yet, but based on what we have, it looks like we are going to be in for a rather interesting time.
