‘Game of Thrones’ season 3 spoilers: Robb Stark’s plan (plus a wedding)
For this “Game of Thrones” season 3 piece, we’re going to be jumping forward a few weeks to some of the action happening in the May episodes. With that in mind, we have to present here a warning: if you want to avoid anything that could be even remotely a plot spoiler, stop reading now. Otherwise, prepare to speculate away!
HBO sent out a press release early Friday detailing some of the storylines coming up very soon on the show, and they include bits and pieces for all of your favorites in Westeros and beyond.
Episode #26, “The Climb” (airing May 5) – “Tywin plans strategic unions for the Lannisters. Melisandre visits the Riverlands. Robb weighs a compromise to repair his alliance with House Frey. Roose Bolton decides what to do with Jaime Lannister. Jon, Ygritte and the Wildlings face a daunting climb.”
Episode #27, “The Bear and the Maiden Fair” (airing May 12) – “Daenerys exchanges gifts with a slave lord outside Yunkai. As Sansa frets about her prospects, Shae chafes at Tyrion’s new situation. Tywin counsels the king, and Melisandre reveals a secret to Gendry. Brienne faces a formidable foe in Harrenhal.”
Episode #28, “Second Sons” (airing May 19) – “King’s Landing hosts a wedding, and Tyrion and Sansa spend the night together. Daenerys meets the Titan’s Bastard. Davos demands proof from Melisandre. Sam and Gilly meet an older gentleman.”
There are a few other details that we can confirm here, as well, starting with the news that “The Bear and the Maiden Fair” is the episode this season written by none other than George R.R. Martin. Last season it was “Blackwater,” and you can always guarantee that he will have chance to pen one of the season’s finest pieces. (The title alone should have fans of A Storm of Swords salivating.)
Meanwhile, there is no new episode on Memorial Day Weekend, which is a good thing considering that episode #29 will contain something that will have your jaw on the floor. We’re very tempted to put another tease in here, but we don’t want to get too colorful with our language for the newbies out there.
