‘The Vampire Diaries’ season 4, episode 20 preview: ‘The Originals’ spin-off video!

You’ve been waiting for this spinoff of “The Vampire Diaries” to happen for months, and now, it’s just about here: the launch of the long-awaited backdoor pilot for “The Originals.” This is an episode that has quite a bit riding on it: not only do we need to see Joesph Morgan’s Klaus as a true leading man, but we also need to learn a thing or two about some of the new characters, the setting, and if the story is going to be enough to actually carry a show as a whole.

Based on the first promo for the show below, we have to say that it looks as though “The Originals” is off to a pretty fantastic start. With Marcel basically having the power in New Orleans that he has long wanted, what we have here is some genuine motivation for Klaus to stick around, and try to claim his seat at the top of the city’s hierarchy. Meanwhile, there are some witches here that he also wants to attend to, and Hayley will be back in action for the first time in several weeks.

The pilot episode for this show was shot on location in New Orleans, and it will probably be the viewer reaction to this hour that really determines whether or not the show is a go. At the moment, it certainly seems as though all of the signs are pointing in the right direction.
