‘Game of Thrones’ season 3 spoilers: What’s next for Jaime Lannister?
Within a few short minutes, the story surrounding Jaime Lannister on “Game of Thrones” season 3 managed to go from being relatively fun and comedic to something else entirely: bloody, dangerous, and shocking. As we wrote about earlier this week, Jaime losing his hand is basically the equivalent of taking away his entire identity. The man was known as the kingslayer and a brilliant swordsman, and now, he’s going to have to get very creative if he ever wants to fight again.
Unfortunately for the Jaime character’s fans, it’s not looking as though he is going to recover from this with boundless optimism and drive. According to E! News, some more of his inner brat is going to come out, as he was never really accustomed to having anything not go his way prior to his capture by the Starks. Expect a great deal of moping in hopes that someone, anyone will give him an ounce of sympathy. Of course, this is Westeros; who really has time to deal with his problems?
The only real source of comfort (if you can really even call it that) that Jaime is going to have is someone who he has developed a rather strange relationship with: Brienne. Even though the two are hardly the best of friends, she at least feels some element of gratitude towards him over how he was able to keep anything unspeakable from happening to her. Her role for Jaime in the immediate future is going to be as a support, even if it comes in the form of tough love.
What do you want to see happen with Jaime before the end of the season? If you want to take a look back at the factors playing in to his impromptu amputation, be sure to watch the video here.
