‘The Good Wife’ season 4, episode 21 preview: What is Peter doing?

The Good WifeAs we near the end of “The Good Wife” season 4, one thing is becoming abundantly clear: Peter is willing to do just about anything in his power in order to ensure that he can win the election … including toy around with Alicia’s life a little bit more than he already has. Next week marks the penultimate episode of the spring, and despite the title of “A More Perfect Union,” we have a feeling that the story could not be any more flawed.

So what sparks the decision by Peter to ask Alicia to renew their vows? It really seems to be simply based around his desire to make sure that the declining numbers in the gubernatorial race turn upside down; he clearly realizes that she connects with voters, and he wants to make sure that he has that sort of boost at his side. (Oh, and he also says that he loves her.)

In case you have not seen the official synopsis for this episode just yet, it goes as follows:

“Alicia represents a group of software coders in a contract dispute as a favor to her mother, but the case causes unexpected consequences to the firm. Meanwhile, Peter asks Alicia to renew their vows and Kalinda plays two sides of the firm against each other.”

We don’t know what is going to happen during this installment yet, but whatever it is should be expected to carry over in a pretty big way to the upcoming season finale later this month. As for why the show is ending in April, blame “The Amazing Race” and “Survivor” having two-hour finales in May.
