MTV’s ‘Awkward’ season 3 spoilers: Check out a new video tease!

Do you want to see what a certain character in the “Awkward” universe thinks about all of the events in season 2? Thankfully, this is where the following video comes into play.

As a way to help tease the launch of season 3 Tuesday night on MTV, the network created a basic tutorial of sorts for some of the new freshman characters at Jenna Hamilton’s school. Unfortunately, Val continues to live up to her tradition of not being a guidance counselor so much as a town gossip. She really just talks about the places that Jenna hangs out, her feelings for Matty and Jake over the years, and the end result of that relationship. Of course, that also gets into the dynamic with Tamara, and how she is now with Jake seemingly after the events of the finale.

So what is the purpose of the video? We really see it as serving three purposes:

1. To remind longtime viewers of everything that has happened on the series after a pretty long time off of the air.

2. To bring in new viewers by explaining pretty much everything that has transpired in a bite-sized and disposable manner.

3. To set the stage somewhat for what the story will be in season 3, and there are at least a couple of tiny hints dropped in there.

If you have been impatient about the return of “Awkward,” it is certainly understandable. After all, this remains one of MTV’s most-popular shows with critics, and the ratings were good enough for season 2 that the show was handed a pretty extensive order this time around.
