NBC’s ‘Revolution’ episode 13 preview: What’s with the tower?

Can Rachel really turn the power back on during Monday night’s “Revolution,” or are we stuck in the same situation that we have been in as of late? The good news for NBC’s hit show is that even though the ratings are not anywhere near where they were at this time a few months ago, it’s still hard to question that the show is now much improved. We have a centralized location, all of the characters together, and some action that is happening at a pretty breakneck speed. To go along with that, we also have a new mystery: what’s with the tower?

Monday night’s new episode carries with it the title of “The Song Remains the Same,” and based on the official synopsis that has been released from the network, it already sounds like we are in for quite an exciting hour:

“Neville (Giancarlo Esposito) faces danger and hard choices as Monroe (David Lyons) doubts his loyalty, he disowns his son Jason (JD Pardo) and gets captured by Miles (Billy Burke). Rachel (Elizabeth Mitchell) and Charlie (Tracy Spiridakos) begin slowly patching their relationship only to be pulled apart again as Rachel suddenly embarks on a quest to restore the power and her self-respect. She must make a dangerous journey to the mysterious Tower as it holds her only chance at redemption.”

The promo below almost promises even more excitement than you can see above, as there are torture scenes, surprising signs of courage, and of course people getting whacked in the face with blunt objects (a “Revolution” staple.) Of course, what we also need more than anything else right now is an opportunity to connect with some of the characters; that is one of our primary issues right now, and it is almost problematic that one of the series’ most-intriguing characters is a man in Neville that we are programmed to root against.
