BBC America’s ‘The Nerdist’ adds ‘Walking Dead,’ ‘Community,’ ‘Doctor Who’ stars
We make no secret of the love for “The Nerdist” podcast, and for those of you who enjoy interviews that are both informative and also funny, there really is no better place out there. Plus, the TV version (airing on BBC America beginning March 30) also features stand-up comedians, who actually get a chance to perform something that has become a little bit of a lost art over the course of the past several years.
The network confirmed this weekend that the Chris Hardwick-hosted series this time around will feature the likes of “Lord of the Rings” stars Dominic Monaghan and Elijah Wood, Matt Smith, Karen Gillan, and Jenna-Louise Coleman from “Doctor Who,” Joseph-Gordon Levitt, Buzz Aldrin, Seth Rogen & Evan Goldberg, Michael Rooker of “The Walking Dead,” Gillian Jacobs of “Community,” Guillermo Del Toro, and many more. Add to this a lineup of comedians that includes the likes of personal favorites Paul Scheer, Matt Kirshen, and Natasha Leggero, you’re probably going to be in for a pretty good time.
Hardwick has managed to become in the past couple of years one of the hardest-working guys in Hollywood. In addition to having this TV show and releasing podcasts multiple times a week, he also is the host of AMC’s “Talking Dead,” which will be wrapping up its season in one week to go along with the end of “The Walking Dead” season 3.
Of course, the timing of “The Nerdist” premiere here is no coincidence, as the show will be airing on the same night as the return of “Doctor Who,” the network’s most-watched series.
