‘The X Factor’ USA notes: Fifth Harmony, Emblem3, and Demi Lovato

Emblem3Since this is the weekend, isn’t it the perfect time to sit back, enjoy the arrival of spring, and listen to some music from a few of your favorite “X Factor” USA contestants? We have a pair of performances for you below, and also some pretty funny answers from Fifth Harmony to some fan requests on Twitter.

Let’s kick off with the “Sunset Boulevard” boys, since we finally had an opportunity earlier this week to hear a version of new single “Chloe” that was not stuffed full of screaming girls. We personally find it hilarious that anyone tries to call them a “boy band,” since they’re really more like Hot Chelle Rae, Fountains of Wanye, and a little bit of the Barenaked Ladies than they are One Direction. “Chloe” has yet to be released to the radio, but we like the idea of them making the rounds with this song before it starts to really receive any play. One of our favorite examples of this working is with Jason Mraz, who toured with “I’m Yours” for years before it became a breakout hit.

Demi performs – Since this is Demi’s time off from “The X Factor” (if she returns to the show, which we suspect she will), she is filling up her time by performing all around the globe. The video that we have for you below is of her new single “Heart Attack” in Manila, which shows the sort of energy and command that she has on stage all around the world.

Fifth Harmony fun – Finally, check out the videos below for some new fun courtesy of the ladies of Fifth Harmony, including the answer to what these ladies were really up to in the elevators through the singing competition this past fall.
